What is Ghostscript?
Ghostscript is a postscript language interpreter, written by Peter
Deutsch, that is free to non-comercial users. It can be used for the
following purposes (among others):
- Previewing postscript images or documents on a computer screen.
- Converting postscript files to a form suitable for
non-postscript printers.
- An interactive environment for developing postscript code.
My Atari port of Ghostscript includes a GEM
graphical interface. It provides
functionality similar to that of the Unix program Ghostview, while
retaining the option to type commands at the prompt.
Also available is a GEM front end to Ghostscript, called GemGS. GemGS
was written before the graphical interface was added to Atari
Ghostscript, but it still contains some features absent in the
Ghostscript interface.
