Present and Future Efforts
Motivation: A toplogically independent code that does not need previous
knwledge about the location of the apparent horizon.
- Test of the mean curvature method for general shape with one black hole
- Reformulate the Eulerian method in a Crank-Nicholson scheme
- Test the method with a time symmetric single black hole case (see
undregrad thesis) with the following initial curves
- spherical centered
- odd shape centered
- odd shape non-centered
- odd shape, non-centered completely to one side
- Test with two black holes
- Test with two black hole Misner data and check against Mijan's code
- test for bifurcation
- test with odd shape initial data
- Check numerical convergence using Dr. Choptuik's thesis approach
Motivation: A stable apparent horizon
- Develop code using this method for ingoing and outgoing geodesics.
Motivation: Unique initial data as testing ground for new physics
- Make square black hole using high frequencies
